Today my fellow friends, family, and loved ones marks a marvelous day. Exactly 11 scores and six and a half years ago this amazing country we know today as the United States of America signed its independence from the mother tyrant country Great Britain. As we go to American Heritage or any other American history class, our minds make us dread the class. Without the signing of that world famous piece of paper that goes by the name of The Declaration of Independence this community we know as the Dude Ranch would never have had the opportunity of growth and prosperity or the opportunity to reach out to hundreds, possibly even thousands, of college students. The countries founding fathers would be pleased to see what their long fought battles and signatures has brought about in today's great college known as BYU. This community as Elder Nick Hales once said is to
".. declare a commitment to camaraderie, academics, and Mario Kart. In preparing this blog, the main purpose is to unashamedly display our creativity and uniqueness. Additionally, there are a number of happenings in The Dude Ranch that we feel the world deserves to hear about. In order to keep you informed and to showcase our endeavors, we hereby create this blog."
We have all moved out to the western frontier in this state called Utah. And for Utah, the state can add yet another ranch to its listings. I stand for peace, charity, humility, grace, and all that is fun and in good will. And on this day, and the next day, and the day after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and so on until all of eternity runs out we will remember how blessed we are. I, Bradley Corbett, aka A*State Jolly Rancher, aka Arkansas Kid, aka McDonalds, aka Brad, aka member of the Dude Ranch, aka Hot Pistol, aka Speed Toaster, aka Tree Chopper (I have splinters in my toaster), aka Numbers Can't Count The Level Of Swagger I have, aka Pencil Buyer, aka Global Warming non-believer, aka Crop OverLord, aka Hotter Than Hotmail, aka Facebook Friend, aka Cuddie Buddy, aka Dat Boi In Da Club, aka Crunk Double Decker. Besides the few nicknames that I own, I like to have fun. I love baseball. Other sports that fall under my collection of favorites is basketball and football. But baseball is for sure my favorite. This is turning into a Facebook 'About Me' section, which is not good. But while you're at starbucks to get coffee; I'm at the bank like get this cash off me. Okay so that was just some of my rap side coming out. But back to the Dude Ranch.. this community is nothing but greatness. I am honored to be in it. Everyone in it and people I've met that have not converted yet are my best friends. I was kind of nervous about coming to college at BYU. Not so much because of the distance, but because of the school itself. Being from a small town in Arkansas, Blytheville, Arkansas to be exact. The amount of LDS members is less than 40. In high school, I had zero LDS friends. Basically living by church standards was a struggle and I was not into the church much at all. So coming out to BYU where it's nothing but church standards and going to church every Sunday wasn't my cup of tea per-say. But I am extremely thankful that I came to this university. I have met some of the greatest guys around, everyone on my hall floor (Budge Hall Twenty-2 hundred) has become some of my best friends.. it's amazing what 2 weeks can do. I've met some pretty cool females as well, the girls that actually hang out with us.. I have to give them appreciation for making through a dinner with us. I love this Ranch. I love this place. I love the people. And as Ricky Martin once said... Live la vida loca. (live crazy).
To all a Good Day or Good Night (depending on what time you are reading this)
Sincerely,
A*State Jolly Rancher
I ain't no elder. Just a brother tryin to catch a break.
ReplyDeleteWe should not be trying to catch a break my dear friend, instead of trying to catch a break we should be fishing for life. What is life you might ask? Good question young Jedi. Well life.. where do I begin. Life, is it just a period of time where we get to do what we want, a never ending adventure with many turns and bumps, or is it some peoples way of trying to gain fame and fortune? We all live different lives.. but at the same time, we all live for the very same thing. Even though we go through different trials and tribulations.. I, bradley, knowing not of the things that are about to be said, say unto you.. We all have different lives, what you might think is difficult could be very easy to someone in the country of Panama. But something that is difficult to someone in Western Yugoslavia could be easy to you. We go through different trials, but what do we all strive for? We all strive to be happy. Everyone seeks happiness. Even though we go through different trials, we all live for the same thing. This lesson is easily forgotten. Look at Iraq, North Korea, and Somalia. Everyone wants to be happy but others forget this easy elementary dear Watson lesson. But we should try to live life. Live to the fullest. You can sleep 6 feet under for a while until the second life. These things I say unto you are said by me.
ReplyDeleteSincerely and always loving,
A*State Jolly Rancher
