Bombastic Is In the Eye of the Beholder

I was doing some reading today (I am in college. I do read.) and I came across the word "bombastic" in an academically acceptable context.

Seeing this word jolted me out of a literary coma. It brought back recollections of a simpler time in my life when I used some Seuss-esque adjectives. I miss those days. I miss the colloquial use of bombastic. I miss the days of words like bodacious, rad, and righteous. I miss bombastic.

Bombastic is, "high-sounding; high-flown; inflated; pretentious." That's what the internet tells me. Citing sources is for chumps.
